If you tucked a Quaker Harvest brand Quinoa Granola bar into your lunch bag this morning, read on…

It turns out that Quaker Canada has recalled Quaker Harvest brand Quinoa Granola Bars from nationwide retailers due to a potential listeria moncytongenes contamination.

This recall affects the following Quaker Canada products:

  1. Quinoa Granola Bars – Yogurt, Fruit & Nut, sold in 175 gram packages (or 5 bars), marked with best before:  16 Oct 12, and UPC: 0 55577 11020 1
  2. Quinoa Granola Bars – Chocolate Nut Medley, sold in 175 gram packages (or 5 bars), marked with best before:  16 Oct 16, and UPC: 0 55577 11021 8

Customers should refrain from eating the above listed products as listeria illness can cause symptoms of fever, vomiting, nausea, severe headache, neck and muscle stiffness. Those with compromised immunity, pregnant women, and elderly individuals can experience severe cases of illness and hospitalization.
