Stressed out at work? Go lick the elevator walls. That’s the message McVities Jaffa Cakes Senior Brand Manager Philippa Tilley is trying to spread after the company spent 4 weeks developing lickable wallpaper to post in their office elevator.
Exactly 1,325 lickable McVities Jaffa Cakes were planted on the walls of the elevator in hopes of creating a more upbeat, fun and innovative environment for office workers.
“We are all about bringing a bit more fun to life and this was the perfect way to get a little joy straight to stressed out office workers,” Philippa Tilley, Senior Brand Manager from McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes, told The Drum.
The obvious question on everyone’s minds is “What about all the germs?”
The company wouldn’t expect its employees to get excited about swapping spit with their co-workers so they made sure that as soon as a Jaffa Cake is licked, it is immediately removed from the wall by the bell boy.
While the concept of lickable wallpaper seems a little too out there for me, it appears the employees at McVities are eating up the new idea. Take a look at some of the photos of office workers trying out the new concept below:
