It’s become one of New York’s most popular social events and it’s happening this weekend! Saturday June 9 and Sunday June 10 2012, the best pitmasters in the US will come together to host the BBQ festival of the year – and we have all the details of the big event.
The Big Apple BBQ Block Party occurs every year on a random weekend in June. The fun happens at Madison Square Park (and surrounding streets) and attracts thousands of BBQ enthusiasts each year. Last year, over 130,000 people attended the event, which raised over $100,000 for the Madison Square Park Conservancy.
Event organizer Kenny Callaghan insists only the highest quality of grilled food will be served at the coveted event. “I pick and choose who comes to the block party to protect the integrity of the event,” said Callaghan, the organizer. “We try to bring in the best of the best.”
