Over the past few years, Doritos has been rolling out new flavors with reckless abandon, to the point that I was starting to find each new one indistinguishable from the rest (with the exception of Cheeseburger and Jalapeno Popper Doritos – those were amazing). I’ve just been finding that every new Doritos flavor seems to be a bland amalgam of salty-cheesy-zesty with a little bit of spice. I figured that their Intense Dill Pickle chips couldn’t possibly follow that pattern, and I was right.
This is, in my opinion, one of the best Doritos products to hit the market in a very long time. You might wonder how badly a company known for cheese-flavored nachos could screw up dill pickle, but the Doritos corn chip with the dill pickle seasoning just works like magic. The flavor is indeed intense – equal parts savory and sour, and thick enough to leave your fingers green when you’re done the bag.
If you’re a fan of dill pickle-flavored snack products, or if you’re a Doritos fan, I recommend this product and I think you’ll like it. It’s a unique addition to the Doritos family of flavors, and that’s part of what makes it work so well – there’s no other chip that tastes quite like this one.
