Last week on Worst Cooks in America Season 3, Benjamin Dennis was sent home on the blue team, and Anthony Schiano was sent home for the red team.

The Skill Drill
The first challenge of this episode was to learn how to prepare shellfish. Both teams had to prepare lobster, shrimp, mussels, crab, and oysters. The oysters would be served raw, but they had the challenge of shucking them properly. Each team prepared a tower out of their seafood and served them with two custom sauces. Anne and Bobby judged them through a blind taste test.
Both teams cooked their seafood brilliantly, and so it came down to presentation. The Red team had abundant platters, but they had forgotten to serve their shrimp. The Blue team had bland sauces and soggy lobster. In the end it was the Red team that won and their reward was to drink champagne with Anne at their house.
The Main Dish Challenge
The elimination challenge was a continuation on the seafood theme. The cooks had to filet a whole fish and serve it with their own unique sauce. There were numerous surprises this round, the first being the fish they would have to butcher. While chef Anne and Bobby showed the technique on a small Arctic Char, the cooks had to replicate it on a 40lb whole salmon. The second surprise was that with 15 minutes left on the clock, the cooks had to prepare a tartar appetizer using the left over salmon.
Vinnie Caligiuri was excellent at fileting the fish, as he regularly does this at home. The rest of the cooks literally butchered their filets and had very ragged cuts. David Shelton made a massive mistake by twisting his knife while his hand was inside the fish- resulting in a missing fingertip. He patched himself up and tried his hardest to compensate for this handicap.
Tiffany decided to pair her salmon with mozzarella cheese in a sandwich. This was a mistake, as fish and cheese generally do not go together.
Results
The winner for Chef Anne Burrell’s red team was Kelli Powers, and Dorothy Strouhal was eliminated.
The winner for Chef Bobby Flay’s blue team was Melissa Rhodes and Tiffany Michelle was sent home.
