Last week on Top Chef Canada Season 2, Xavier Lacaze was sent home. The remaining contestants are Jonathan Korecki, David Chrystian, Trevor Bird, and Carl Heinrich.
Quickfire Challenge
The first challenge of this episode was all about the classic pie. The guest judges were Marc Thuet and Biana Zorich, business partners and restaurateurs. The contestants had two and a half hours to bake one sweet and one savory pie. While this amount of time seems long compared to the normal quickfire challenges, it is a very short time for baking.

The chefs on the bottom were Jonathan Korecki and David Chrystian. Those on the top were Trevor Bird and Carl Heinrich.
Carl was on top and won a custom Caesar Stone countertop for their home or work kitchen, valued at $5000. He has been going through the competition silently but has certainly shown he is a great chef.
Trevor was also given an award, with his apple bacon tart being chosen as one of the dishes featured at Milestone Restaurants. In addition, he won a cash prize of $3000.

The elimination round had the chefs taking their cooking from the kitchen to the catwalk. They had to translate high fashion to their plates and were unrestricted with creativity. The chefs had to serve 50 people lunch at the Don Mills shopping center.
