After 10 weeks of competition, The Next Food Network Star 2012 has come to an end. The remaining four contestants spent last week making pilots to show America what their shows would be. Over four and a half million Americans voted and cast their decisions on the results.
The four finalists were Michelle Ragussis, Martie Duncan, Justin Warner, and Yvan Lemoine. This episode was marked with behind the scenes footage showing what the contestants really went through. Team Bobby was cruel and pushy, but that fit their style in the show. Team Giada seemed to get bullied by both the other teams and she thought they acted like the little sister of the group.
The poll votes on the website were announced. Martie and Justin won the odd couple award. Nikki won the most competitive contestant award. Malcolm was no surprise for the cockiest competitor award. He felt that he didn’t need a point of view for his show and refused to take assistance. His quote with “my point of view is no point of view” said it all.
Martie was eliminated first to bring the teams down to one each. The remaining three were left in wonder on who would be the Next Food Network Star. Justin had his pilot about his “cooking rebel” idea and it was really well rated. Michele had her New England style which was charming. Yvan had his family style meals as a big hit.
The President of the Food Network, Brook Johnson, came out to announce the winner. Justin was picked to win because of his unique style and engagement presentations. He was the obvious choice from day one and I had been watching him closely through the competition.
Congratulations Justin Warner on becoming The Next Food Network Star!
