The Challenge
The challenge for this week was nerve wracking. The teams were introduced to the Chopped kitchen where they would be cooking desserts with mystery basket ingredients. Each team would be battling within itself to find the three bottom cooks who would go to the Network Challenge. They would be judged on both their cooking and a one-minute presentation explaining it.
Each team had a different basket. Team Alton went first with the secret ingredients of Hershey Kisses, graham crackers, pancetta, and cumquats. Justin Warner had major issues on every aspect of his dish. He came up with ‘no bake’ cookies. Emily Ellyn made cupcakes. Judson Allen made chocolate cornbread. Martie Duncan made s’mores.
Team Giada was given the secret ingredients of Reese’s Pieces, popcorn, grape soda, and coconut. Josh had problems in his presentation and his food fell flat. Linkie Marals made a chocolate mousse. Yvan Lemoine made bread pudding. Phillip “Ippy” Aiona made a mango tempura. Martita Jara made bunuelos. Josh Lyons made donuts.
Team Bobby was given the secret ingredients of pineapple, black lava salt, pasta sheets, and Hershey Milk Chocolate Bars. Erick Lee made a napoleon. Malcolm Mitchell made a chocolate tart. Nikki Martin made bread pudding. Michelle Ragussis made a cheese filled napoleon. Nikki had problems on both her presentation and her undercooked dessert.
The Challenge Results
Finally Team Alton was the best. My bets are on him and his team has been very disappointing so far. As one person from each team has to go to the Network Challenge Martie Duncan. On Team Giada, Josh Lyons was chosen as the bottom. On Team Bobby, Nikki Martin was the bottom.
The Network Challenge
The Network Challenge this week was to grill a dish and have a one-minute presentation on grilling tips. Nikki did a great job and was safe.
The Elimination Results
The person sent home had to be Josh Lyons. This was his second week on the bottom and it was not a surprise he was eliminated.
