Health Canada is issuing a recall for Tera Gear Anywhere Tabletop Grills sold by Loblaw Companies in Canada.
The product being recalled is a propane gas stainless steel grill, 50.5cm long by 25.4com wide by 40cm high. The grill has the Tera Gear logo featured on the front just above the latch that locks the grill.
The recall was issued after it was noticed that the products were distributed to companies for the purpose of sale before they were tested or certified by CSA. The grills each feature a non-authorized CSA certification mark on the packaging and on the instruction manual (but not on the grill itself). According to the official press release, “the grill operating temperatures pose a potential risk of fire when used about combustible surfaces. “
The products in question were sold in Canada between March, 2012 and May 11, 2012. Approximately 600 of the affected products were sold.
