On October 16th big changes to the Starbucks Gold Card will be released. Over the past few days, Gold Card Members have been receiving emails detailing the changes. One alteration in particular has caused an internet riot- the card holders will no longer have free soy milk. This has caused a stampede of angry customers who are vegan, lactose intolerant, or allergic to milk. Unfortunately for them they will now have to pay an extra 60 cents per coffee. Those effected by the change are saying its discrimination as the soy products do not cost the company that percentage more than milk does.

Other changes to the cards will be rewards after 12 stars instead of the current 15. Customers will be able to use their points on not only coffee products, but food as well. The best change we could see is that the rewards will be processed through your smartphone or loyalty card. Previously all reward cards were sent through the mail and many people never saw theirs turn up.
