Cost-conscious consumers are forcing popular chain restaurants like Olive Garden to make menu items more affordable for restaurant-goers.
After a weak quarter, Olive Garden (owned by Darden Restaurants Inc) rolled out a new promotion in hopes of attracting more traffic to its restaurants.
The new deal offers consumers a “2 for $25 Dinner” special where couples can enjoy 2 entrees and 2 appetizers (or one dessert made for sharing) for just $25.
For entrees, customers have the choice of Smoked Mozzarella Chicken, Eggplant Parmigiana, Five Cheese Ziti Al Forno, Spaghetti with 4 Cheese Meat Sauce and Meatballs, Ravioli di Portobello and Fettuccine Alfredo.
Appetizer choices include Calamari, Bruschetta, Fried Mozzarella, Fried Zucchini, Breadstick Dipping Sauce and Toasted Ravioli.
Consumers choosing to forgo the appetizers for a dessert can pick from the Triple Chocolate Strata, Zeppoli, Tiramisu and Two Dolcinis.
