The Cooking Challenge
The cooking challenge this week had Becky and Frank choosing teams. Their task was to complete dinner service at Hatfield’s Restaurant. The teams came out men vs women, with Becky, Christine, and Monti on one team and Frank, Josh, and David on the other. The men’s team struggled greatly and only started getting plates out an hour into service. The women’s team did a great job communicating and pushing the food out. The judges decided that the women were the winners.
Joe berated the men’s team for taking so long in the kitchen. He told them that there are only so many excuses to tell the patrons and only so much free wine while they wait. It was a hard lesson for the boys and Frank was devastated at the loss.
The Pressure Test
Frank Mirando was asked if someone on his team deserved immunity. He said that Josh did a great job and should get it. Gordon Ramsay then revealed that there was an immunity spot and Frank had to pick who would get it. Frankie chose himself and Josh was left boiling mad.
The pressure test between Josh and David was to cook large filet mignon in three different applications. They had to cook one rare, one medium rare, and one well done. It was a very hard challenge because of the thickness of the meat.
Josh’s steaks came out perfectly rare, medium instead of medium rare, and finally medium instead of well done.
David’s steaks came out medium rare instead of rare, medium/medium well instead of medium rare, and finally medium/medium well instead of well done.
It was David Martinez who was eliminated. He was a controversial character but he came up with some amazing dishes. Before he left, Graham Elliot told David that he had a job at any of Graham’s restaurants. David might have lost but he won a career.
Do you think Frank should have taken immunity?
