We’ve all seen the chaos that ensues when Popeye’s runs out fried chicken – or when McDonalds runs out of chicken McNuggets – but what happens when a Connecticut deli customer fails to receive his sandwich exactly the way he ordered it? Well, that’s an answer only Connecticut law officials can answer today.
“I specifically asked for little turkey, and little ham, a lot of cheese and a lot of mayonnaise and they are giving me a hard time,” the Connecticut man told the dispatcher after calling 911 over his sandwich saga Wednesday.
“You’re calling 911 because you don’t like the way that they’re making your sandwich?” the dispatcher asks.
“Exactly,” he replies.
The dispatcher then tells the disgruntled customer to simply not buy the sandwich if he didn’t like the way it was made, however, this is a suggestion that did not sit well with the noticeably upset man. You see, he wasn’t just worried about his sandwich order today but feared that they would mess up his future orders as well.
“I mean, I just want to solve this the right way,” he said. “Her sister made it, but she left. They are playing games with me, so I was just wondering if you could come by,” he said. “I just want it resolved and I want to be able to come back here and get the regular sandwich that I ask for.”
The full 911 can be heard here.
So how did the situation get resolved? And will Greatful Deli in East Hartford Connecticut have one less customer after the incident?
According to a deli worker, the man called to apologize the next morning.
“He said he’s going to come in again – not anytime soon – but he will be in again,” the employee told NBC news.
