Johnsonville Sausage Recall: 48,000 Lbs of Turkey Sausage Recalled

Johnsonville Sausage of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin is recalling approximately 48,000 lbs of turkey sausage because the products may contain pieces of gloves.

The specific product associated with the recall is “13.5-oz. vacuum packages of Johnsonville Turkey Sausage with Cheddar Cheese.” Packages can be identified by the establishment number “EST P-34224″ inside the USDA mark of inspection. The items also feature a best by date of “08/20/2012 2.”

The product affected by the recall was produced on May 22, 2012 and was distributed to retail establishments nationwide.

Two consumer complaints sparked the recall, however, the FSIS and the company have not received any reports of injury due to the mistake. The recall is listed as a Class II at this point, which means the health risk for consumers is relatively low.
