The First Challenge
In the spirit of Las Vegas, where the winner will work, the challenge this week was gambling. The chefs would choose their ingredients via slot machine. As the girls had one more competitor than the Blue team, they had to sit someone out. No one volunteered so it was given to Kimmie. Gordon Ramsay thought to mix it up and told Kimmie that she would cook, but using the ingredients of one of her team mates. Then the girls would taste both dishes and choose only one to compete. She picked her friend, Robyn Almodovar to cook against. Robyn took this as an offense and had the Red Team pick her own dish rather than taste Kimmie’s. As it turned out, it was Robyn’s dish that made them lose. Gordon Ramsay told them that Kimmie’s was much better and would probably have won the challenge.
The reward for the Blue Team winning was a shopping spree at Sur La Table, a cooking supply store. It was a funny reward because the store only seemed to carry kitschy plastic gadgets that a professional chef would have a better version of.
The punishment for the Red team was to butcher half cows to prep for dinner service that night. Kimmie gave a good analogy of how huge these hunks of meat were, “Me and Clemenza could lay down next to each other and still not be as big [as this meat].”
Dinner Service
At the start of dinner service, Robyn was still making it clear she was mad at Kimmie. Barbie and Tiffany were also getting into it because Barbie was correcting her mistakes. This drama seemed petty when Kimmie seriously burnt herself.
Kimmie put a fired up a burner under hot oil and it splattered all over herserlf. The oil coated her hands and arms and she started screaming. Clemenza grabbed a medic and they took her in a back room to check her out. It turned out the oil gave her second degree burns over her hands and arms. While we couldn’t see anything as a viewer, the medic told Kimmie that she could not possibly work service that night.
Will this be the end to Kimmie?
