Last episode on Hell’s Kitchen 2012 had Tavon Hubbard sent home for massacring his scallops.
The Red Girls Team:
The Blue Boys Team:
The First Challenge
Gordon started this episode with a rapping wake up call. His message? Learn how to finally cook scallops! Each team had to dig through a pile of ice to find 125 scallops. Gordon then showed the competitors how to shuck and properly cook them. The teams worked in pairs to replicate exactly what Gordon’s example plate looked like. The Red girls powered ahead early by focusing on quality over speed.
The girls won by a massive margin and were treated to a yacht ride with Gordon Ramsay. The Blue boys team were punished by having to clean all the ice outside from the scallop digging challenge. They also had to drink a smoothie made of all their tossed scallops.
The Restaurant Challenge
In restaurant wars, both sides had issues. Barbie had problem after problem with her scallops. She tried to sneak 8 scallops past Gordon Ramsay when there should have been 10. He called her up and made her count in front of everyone. 2×5=10, not 8. After all the disappointment, Gordon Ramsay closed the kitchen on the Red girls team first. As they left, Barbie and Robyn got into a cat fight and Robyn started smashing plates in their apartment.
Gordon closed the Blue men’s team shortly after. At least this time they got to the entrée round. Both teams were on the bottom and each side had to choose two people that had disappointing performances.
The Red girls team chose Barbie and Roshni. The season for Barbie was obvious as she failed cooking almost all of the scallops. Roshni was nominated to insure that Barbie would go home. The Blue boys team chose Chris and Royce to be judged.
Gordon told Royce and Roshni to go back in line. He then told the remaining two that they both should be going home. In the end, Barbie was sent back in line. Chris was eliminated for not being able to cook the fish entrée.
