Ground Beef, Hamburger Recall 2012 Update: Full Product List

The ground beef / hamburger recall that’s been hitting Canada’s food industry hard this month continues to expand each day and we have all the details of what you missed over the weekend.

When recalls expand every day, it’s difficult to keep up with all of the products recalled. To make sure you keep you and your family healthy, we have the breakdown of each recall since the day the initial one was released but links to the official CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) press releases for each one. Below you will find a breakdown by date and links to the corresponding product lists:

September 16, 2012: The initial recall was released on September 16, 2012 and included the following brands: Safeway, Kirkland Signatures and Calahoo Meats. It also included no-name brands sold at Walmart stores in Western Canadian provinces. You can see the complete list of products, as well as UPC codes, dates of distribution and locations here.

September 17, 2012: The second recall included the following brands: Those prepared for Loblaws Inc, No-Name brands sold to various grocery stores in Canada, Sobey’s / Foodland, Sobeys, Foodland, Sobeys / IGA, Metro, Sold from Super C, Sold from Metro, Sold from Entrepot de Viandes. September 18, 2012: The following day, another recall was released with the following brands: Prepared for Reddi Food Solutions Inc, Giant Tiger, Northern and N0-Name brands sold to various grocery stores across the country. To see the complete product list for this recall, go here.

September 19, 2012: More products added to the recalled list on September 19 included the following brands: Sobeys/IGA, Sold from Presto and Club Entrepot and CO-OP. You can view the entire list of products associated with this recall here.

September 20, 2012: This recall included products under the brands Metro and Safeway. It also included several No-Name products sold to various grocery stores across the country. To see a list of those grocery stores and a complete product list associated with this recall, click here.

September 21, 2012: The products associated with this recall were sold under the following brands: Freson Bros., Soberys/Foodland, Sobeys, Foodland, Sobeys/IGA, Douglas Meats (Marketplace Co-op), Douglas Meats (Foodland IGA) and several No-Name products sold in certain Super A and Big Way stores across Western Canada. September 22, 2012: The last recall issued was on September 22. It included the following brands: Foodland, Sobeys, Foodland/Sobeys and No-Name products sold at Walmart stores in BC, MB, AB and SK. You can see the full list here.
