Alberta’s Gaming and Liquor Commission is warning consumers not to drink Woody’s Sasparilla because there’s a significant possibility the drinks contain pieces of glass.
The alcoholic beverages are sold in packs of 4 and bear the lot number BB16-02-14. The products in question are 330ml bottles.
The commission is urging retailers, restaurants and bars to remove all products from the shelves and is urging consumers to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Back in November, Woody’s was hammered with a similar recall after glass fragments were found in other products. At that time, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a similar recall to remove all of those products from the shelves as well.
To find out if your bottles are affect, check the code on the label. If it’s difficult to read, the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission advises that you put the product up to the light to better view the label.
*Update: The Manitoba Liquor Control Commission and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency have also issued recalls for this product.
