The dog food recall this month (May 2012) is becoming an increasing concern for pet owners after Diamond Pet Foods announced an expansion of the initial recall to now include 9 brands of dog food.
As many of you know, Diamond Pet Foods announced three voluntary recalls of Diamond manufactured dry dog food in April because of salmonella concerns. A few days ago, it expanded it’s initial to include the following brands:
- Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul
- Country Value
- Diamond
- Diamond Naturals
- Premium Edge
- Professional
- 4Health
- Taste of the Wild
The products in question were manufactured between December 9, 2011 and April 7, 2012 and distributed to the following states:
- Alabama
- Florida
- Georgia
- Indiana
- Kentucky
- Massachusetts
- Maryland
- Michigan
- Mississippi
- New York
- North Carolina
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Virginia
The products were sold in Canada as well.
Most of the products were sold in the East Coast of the US and Canada.

The salmonella outbreak has caused illness in at least 14 people in nine states.
