Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy made headlines last month when he responded “guilty as charged” when asked about his views  against same sex marriage. On Wednesday, thousands of individuals rallied at Chick-fil-A locations across the US to show their support for Cathy’s comments opposing gay couples. In a statement yesterday, the popular restaurant chain said that Wednesday’s Appreciation Day had been “an unprecedented day” for the company.

Today, however, protestors are ready to show their support for same-sex marriages and have officially dubbed today National Same Sex Kiss Day. The goal of this campaign is for individuals to show their support for same-sex marriages – and their disapproval for Dan Cathy’s comments and views on the subject. Today, thousands of individuals will rally outside Chick-fil-A restaurants across the US for the exact opposite reason thousands came out yesterday. Today protestors will carry signs that read HateFul-A, Chick-fil-A is Anti-Gay and more. In addition, demonstrators plan to kiss fellow protestors of the same sex inside Chick-fil-A restaurants to prove their point.

There’s no word yet on just how much of an impact (if any) Cathy’s comments will have on Chick-fil-A sales but, at this point in time, it seems as though the sides are split down the middle.

Do you support Dan Cathy’s comments about same-sex marriages – and will it affect whether you continue to dine at Chick-fil-A?
