The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a warning on several basil products over the past week and additional items were added to the growing list today. The dried basil products are being recalled over salmonella concerns after some products tested positive for the bacteria.
The recall is an ongoing food safety investigation. The CFIA is working with several groups to make sure these products are removed from shelves and out of the hands of consumers.
The products below have been distributed in Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Ontario. The CFIA notes that the items may have inadvertently been distributed to other provinces as well.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall so far.
