Taylor Farms Retail has issued a voluntary recall of Organic Baby Spinach products sold to several states in the US. The recall was issued after a random test yielded positive results for salmonella – a potentially fatal organism.

The items falls under two brands: Private Selections and Marketside. Each product has a “Best By” date of May 25, 2012. You can view the UPC numbers, package codes and distribution locations for each product below.

Salmonella can cause serious (and sometimes fatal) illness – especially in children, elderly individuals and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of salmonella poisoning include nausea, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. If you’ve purchased the products above and are experiencing any of the symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.

There have been no reported illnesses to date.

Consumers requiring further information on the recall can call Taylor Farms Retail Inc at 866-508-7048 Monday -Friday 8am to 5pm PST.
